There is a good news for the beneficiaries of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). EPFO has started the interest deposit process for the financial year 2021-22. After that, the interest money will be reflected in the accounts of 7 crore subscribers of EPFO soon. EPFO has recently tweeted this information.
In March this year, EPFO announced 8.1% interest, the lowest interest rate in the last 40 years. In this news we are going to show you how you can check the interest in your PF account in any way.
How to check your account balance on the website?
1. Subscribers first visit EPFO official website epfindia.gov.in.
2. Now go to Services tab.
3. Here you have to search and select 'For Employees'.
4. From here you will reach a new page, where you have to click on 'Member Passbook'. After that (UAN) and password have to be entered.
5. After the passbook is opened it will show employer contribution and interest.
6. An employee working in more than one company can check with different ID. Employees' salary slips contain information about it.
Know account balance through SMS
To check PF balance through SMS, write EPFOHO UNA ENG in the message from your registered mobile number to 7738299899. Here ENG shows the first three characters of the language in which you are looking for information.
The message feature is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali languages. Your mobile number needs to be registered with UAN to know EPFO balance through message.
Check Balance with Missed Call
To check PF balance through missed call your mobile number needs to be registered with UAN. You can check the PF balance by giving a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile. After giving a missed call you will get a PF message on your registered number which will let you know the PF balance.
Check Balance on Umang App
Open your Umang app and click on EPFO.
You have to click on employee-centric services on another page.
Click here View Passbook. Enter your UAN number and password (OTP) number.
The OTP will be sent to your registered number.
After that you can check your PF balance.
How is interest calculated?
As per the process, EPF contribution is credited to the account every month and interest is calculated every month. Total interest accrued for the last year of the financial year. Every year in March, the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO, which falls under the Union Labor Ministry, fixes the interest rate for the financial year. The finance ministry then confirms the interest rate. After the confirmation, the Ministry of Labor and EPFO start the process of remittance of interest money to the employee's account.
The Union Finance Ministry said that the delay in depositing interest for financial year-22 was due to a software upgrade. Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav is the chairman of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), the top decision-maker of EPFO.
If there is no interest, file a complaint here
For that you have to go to ttps://epfigms.gov.in/website.
You have to go to this website and click on Register Grievance.
Then select your status from PF Member, EPF Pensioner, Employer, Others.
Then select PF Member for complaints related to PF account.
After completing all these processes, enter the UAN number and security code and click on Get Details.
Personal information will be exposed from account linked from UAN.
Then click on Get OTP. You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number.
After submitting the OTP, fill in the personal details and click on the PF number associated with which the complaint is to be filed.
After that an app will appear. Here you have to select an option from PF Officer, Employer, Employee Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme or Pre Pension.
Upload details and required documents and click on submit.
After that your complaint will be registered and the complaint registration number will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.
