Important News: Link Your Bank Account To Aadhaar Soon, Otherwise Pension And LPG Subsidy May Stop


SBI, the country's largest bank, has asked to link the bank account with the Aadhaar number to avail government schemes like pension and LPG subsidy. Not linked to many people's account support. If your account is not linked to Aadhaar, you can link to it at home. We are telling you the process.


SBI users can link online this way



  • Go to "Link your Aadhaar number" under "My Accounts" that appears on the left side of the screen.


  • On the second page, select the account number, enter the base number and click submit.


  • The last 2 digits of your registered mobile number (they cannot be changed) will appear.


  • Mapping status information will be provided on your registered mobile number.


Via ATM


  • Go to SBI ATM, swipe your debit card, and enter your PIN.


  • Now select the 'Service-Registration' option. Select Support Registration in the menu.


  • Now enter the Aadhaar number by selecting the type of account.


  • Then a message will be sent to the registered mobile number to link the bank account and Aadhaar.

  • Then go to ‘Check Aadhaar / Bank Account Linking Status’ by clicking on the section with ‘Aadhaar Services’.


  • As you click on it, a new page will open. Here you will be asked for a 12 digit Aadhaar number.


  • First, fill in the space provided in the base number. A security code will also appear on the screen, look at it and fill it out. One Time Password (OTP) will come to your registered mobile number.


  • In this case, you have to enter it and login again.


  • If your bank account is linked to Aadhaar then “Congratulations! Your Bank Aadhaar Mapping has been done ”message.


  • You can go to the bank and get the link


The customer can contact the nearest SBI branch for seeding of the Aadhaar number in the bank account. There you have to provide a photocopy of your support. But when you go to the bank, keep the original Aadhaar card with you.


The benefits of linking a bank account with Aadhaar


The amount received under pension, LPG subsidy, or government schemes now comes directly into the bank account. But to take advantage of it you need to be linked to your bank account support. According to the Supreme Court order, linking a bank account with Aadhaar is not mandatory but if you want to receive a government subsidy in a bank account, you have to add the Aadhaar number to the account. The government asked banks to ensure that all bank accounts should be linked to the customer's Aadhaar number by March 31, 2021.
