The Chairman of the Covid Working Group, Dr. Anke Arora said on Sunday that trials of the Zydus Cadillac vaccine were almost complete. By the end of July or in August we will be able to start vaccinating children between the ages of 12 and 18.

Aim to apply 10 million doses daily

He said the ICMR had conducted a study in which it was said that the third wave would come again. We have 6-8 months to vaccinate everyone in the country. Our goal in the coming days is to give 10 million doses of injections daily.

AIIMS chief said- schools can be started after the vaccination of children

AIIMS Chief Dr. Randeep Guleria said that the corona vaccine for children would be the biggest achievement. This will pave the way for schools to reopen and start outdoor activities. Guleria made the remarks during a conversation with news agency PTI on Saturday.

                           

Three vaccines for children

The results of Phase 2 and 3 trials of Bharat Biotech's Covacin on children aged 2 and 18 will be available by September. Vaccines for children may be available within India within that time interval after approval by the drug regulator.

If the Pfizer vaccine is approved before this, it will also be a suitable option for children.

According to a senior government official, Zydus Cadila may also soon apply to the Drug Controller General of India for approval to use its Corona vaccine ZyCoV-D on an immediate basis.

Sweet impact on children's education, schools must be started

"If the Zydus vaccine is approved, we will have one more option," said Dr. Guleria. However, most cases in children are mild infections, he said. Also, some children do not even have symptoms. However, they can be carriers of infection.

He said the epidemic has had a devastating effect on children's education in the last one and a half years. So that schools will have to reopen. Vaccination will play an important role in this. This would be a good way to combat the Corona epidemic.

Children need 25 to 26 million doses

A national expert group has been formed to review coronary heart disease in children, find new ways to deal with the epidemic, and strengthen preparations for it. On the issue of vaccination of children, a member of the policy commission, Dr. VK Paul recently said that this group is not small. My estimate is that the number of children between the ages of 12 and 18 is about 13 to 14 million. For this we will need 25 to 26 crore doses.

The government recently reported that the coronavirus has never been so deadly to children. However, if a separate strain of the virus comes out, there may be an increase in covid cases. However, we have already made preparations to deal with any such situation.
