New feature: Now the postman will come home and update the mobile number in the Aadhaar card, no need to go to the Aadhaar center:

Now you don't have to go to Aadhaar Center to update your mobile number in Aadhaar card. This work will now be done at home by the postman. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have signed the agreement. Under this, the postman will update the mobile number given in the Aadhaar card. The service will be available through 1.46 lakh postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) operating in the network of 650 India Post Payments Banks established across the country.

The postman will be given a smartphone for that

The postal department is providing high-tech smart phones to postmen for this work. It will be possible to update the mobile number in the Aadhaar card with the help of a special software app. The postman has been properly trained for this. The trained postman will go door to door and update the Aadhaar card.

Children will soon be able to enroll

J Venkataramu, managing director and CEO of IPPB, said on Tuesday that UIDAI's mobile update service through the extensive network of post offices, postmen and GDCs would also enable service to areas where banking services are not available. IPPB is currently providing only mobile update service. It will also soon launch a service of child enrollment through its network.

Mobile number needs to be updated

Nowadays we need Aadhaar card for many types of work. Aadhar card is required to avail any type of government service, get a new SIM card, open a bank account, file an income tax return or withdraw money from an EPF account. To avail most of these services also get OTP on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card. With OTP you can do many things easily. If you do not receive this OTP, you may be in trouble.

How was the mobile number updated so far?

You have to go to the nearest Aadhaar service center to update the mobile number in Aadhaar. You can update the mobile number in the Aadhar card by filling a form at the Aadhar service center and paying a fee of Rs 50. It does not require any kind of document. As on March 31 this year, 128.99 crore Aadhaar cards have been issued to the people of the country.
