Following the announcement of the launch of the world's cheapest 4G smartphone 'Jio Next', Jio Law is also gearing up to launch a budget. jio's low budget laptop is listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards website. As per the listing, 3 variants of the laptop may be launched. The company will install its in-house Jio OS in this laptop. All Jio apps will be pre-installed in this laptop. Laptops can also support 4G LTE connectivity.
A 2008 report stated that Jio was working on a laptop segment. This laptop will complete the customer's search for a low budget friendly computing device.
Partnership with a Chinese company
Jio has partnered with Chinese company Bluebank Communication Technology for its first laptop 'Jiobook'. The company also has an order to make Geophone. According to a report by tech website XDA Developers, the development of JioBook began in September last year.
Expected Specification of Jibook:
The Jiobook will get a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. It will come with a Snapdragon X12 4G modem.
Its three variants NB1118QMW, NB1148QMW and NB1112MM can be launched.
One model of laptop will get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The other model will get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
For connectivity the laptop will have options including a mini HDMI connector, dual band WiFi and Bluetooth. It can get 3 Axis accelerometer and Qualcomm audio chip.
Jio's apps, including Jiostar, jiomet and Jiopages, can be pre-installed on laptops. It can also be found in Microsoft's Apps Teams, Edge and Office.
The suspense over the price of the Jiobook is still there. The laptop could be launched in the budget segment by the end of this year.
